"Lignes de Faille" (Fault lines in English)is a collection of electrical drawings made out of gold and micro LED.

This project aims to identify all the fault lines of the earth's surface in terms of their seismic activity during the 20 th and 21 th Century. The drawing we can see in the pictures is a presentation of the coast of Honshu in Japan that caused the disaster in Sendai last year. I listed 865 earthquakes of greater or lesser importance from 1900 to today.

"Lignes de Faille" is a topography art work, that is highlighting the memory of a past event. The map is shown with the electronic circuit board made out of gold. The elevations are inspired by a real document. The fault is represented by light from small LED. The topography is on the sheet of paper as printed circuit boards to carry the electricity to the LED. The entire design is created with gold leaf.

Gold has been chosen for two purposes : eternity, which characterizes the most the material and a for its electrical ability for conduction. "Lignes de Faille" are lines of light passing through the sheet of paper. Line becomes the fold, wrinkle or trace. They each have a different shape and scale, they are somehow geographical identity and memory of the disaster.
